Do I actually need a Nutrition Facts label to sell my food?
It depends on where and how you sell. Many small home producers are exempt from the full Nutrition Facts panel under state cottage food laws, but they still must show an ingredient list, allergen statement, net weight, business name, and a state disclaimer. Online marketplaces like Amazon and some Etsy categories often ask for a Nutrition Facts panel anyway. Nutripane builds all of it so you are covered either way.
How accurate are the numbers?
We estimate nutrition from USDA FoodData Central, the public database that underlies most nutrition tools. It is a strong, defensible starting point. It is not a laboratory analysis of your exact batch. For high-volume commercial printing, confirm your panel before you go to press. We label everything as an estimate so you are never guessing about what you are relying on.
How does the ingredient list get ordered?
Labeling rules require ingredients in descending order by weight. We convert every ingredient you enter to grams, then sort the statement heaviest-first automatically.
Which allergens do you flag?
We tag the major allergen groups recognized on U.S. labels, including milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and sesame, and roll them into a single Contains line. Always double-check against your actual ingredients and your supplier labels for cross-contact.
What is the cottage food disclaimer?
Most states require home-based food sellers to print a specific sentence saying the product was made in a home kitchen that is not inspected. Pick your state and we add wording for it. State rules change, so confirm the current exact text with your state's cottage food program before printing.
Can I edit my label after I make it?
Yes. Building and previewing is free and unlimited, so adjust your recipe and regenerate as many times as you want. Each label gets its own permanent URL.
What do I get when I pay $24?
The watermark comes off, the panel becomes clean and print-ready, and your recipe cost per batch and per unit is unlocked so you can price with margin. It is a one-time charge for that label, not a subscription.
Is this legal or nutrition advice?
No. Nutripane is a drafting tool. It does not replace a registered dietitian, a lab, or your state regulator. Use it to move fast, then verify before you sell at scale.
